Ghella’s Brisbane Office

Ghella, an Italian civil infrastructure and tunnelling contractor, was scaling their Australian operations and wanted their Brisbane office to match the standard of the Melbourne headquarters Concept had already delivered. The Level 15 space at 97 Creek Street had to present the same senior, established brand to clients in Queensland.

Refresh 172 square metres into a permanent, client-ready workplace aligned to the Melbourne HQ standard, on a budget-led brief. The office had to carry Ghella’s Italian heritage through material and detail rather than literal reference, support client-facing meetings on the ground, and give the local team a workplace at the same quality bar as Melbourne.

Concept organised the plan around the arrival experience. A Welcome Lounge opens the space and routes visitors through to a ten-seat boardroom, with workstations zoned separately so the team can hold focus. The material palette carries an Italian sensibility through warmth and restraint: Arabescato Corchia sintered porcelain, with the depth of Italian marble and the durability to match daily use, at the kitchen bench; oak laminate running warmth through the joinery and boardroom tops; a timber-slat island; and a  limewash feature wall with sheer drapery that gives the lounge the feel of a European hotel arrival. Linear pendants anchor the boardroom. Run from the Melbourne studio, the refurbishment was refined across five test-fit rounds until the plan was exactly right, and completed on programme in February 2026.

Ghella gained a Brisbane office that matches the Melbourne headquarters and a hospitality-styled front of house for client meetings. The project completed on programme in February 2026. Ghella came back to Concept for this fitout after the Melbourne HQ, and kept the relationship going well past handover.
