199 m²A Warm, Welcoming Workspace Designed for Collaboration
Concept delivered a new fitout for Gradient Services, a mining engineering firm relocating to a contemporary workspace on Como Street. The brief called for a light-filled, collaborative environment with bespoke touches and practical storage for large-format drawings. The result is an open, brand-aligned workplace that makes the most of natural light and views while supporting day-to-day engineering workflows.
Our approach
We organised the floorplate around a clear arrival sequence and a central hospitality anchor: earthy, welcoming front-of-house leading into a breakout and kitchen for team rituals, with workpoints and collaboration settings positioned to capitalise on daylight. Storage for large-format drawings is integrated within the collaboration/workstation zone so engineers can move seamlessly between review and production.
Design & materiality
The palette references Gradient’s brand and the Australian outback: deep terracotta and green tones in front-of-house, tempered by neutral back-of-house layers with green accents. Key moves include bold feature walls to the boardroom and an arched entry to the breakout that frames the view. The kitchen features Laminex Moroccan Clay for rich, earthy colour and Polytec Boston Oak to add warmth and tactility — a robust, easy-care combination suited to daily use.
