Project Overview
Concept upgraded its Adelaide Head Office to create a welcoming and distinctive workplace for the city’s growing team. Located on Level 27 at 91 King William Street, the new space supports designers, project directors and delivery teams while providing a strong base for client engagement across South Australia.
The goal was to retain familiarity with Concept’s Melbourne headquarters while introducing an Adelaide-specific identity, delivering a workplace that feels both connected and unique.
Design Vision
The design takes cues from the Melbourne office but pushes further into bold, moodier colours. Burgundy tones form the central identity of the space, applied across cabinetry, acoustic treatments, carpets and joinery to create warmth and character within a compact footprint.
An exposed ceiling was retained and sprayed as a feature, transforming existing building services into a deliberate design element that adds texture and depth.
Planning & Workplace Experience
Despite its small footprint, the office supports multiple ways of working through careful spatial planning:
- Two quiet rooms for focused work
- Flexible collaboration and design hub zones
- A hero kitchen and welcome space for clients and team gatherings
- Workstations supported by acoustic screens
- Natural light and views maximised across shared areas
Curtains and soft finishes were used instead of additional walls to improve acoustics while preserving openness and flexibility.
Culture & Team Input
The Adelaide team contributed to shaping the space, ensuring it supports how they work day to day. Music, warmth, texture and natural light combine to create an environment people genuinely enjoy working in and visiting.
Outcome
