A Collaborative Hub for Evidence-Based Research
Concept is proud to showcase its design and build project for Orima, Australia’s leading provider of end-to-end research and data analytics services for the public and not-for-profit sectors.
Challenge:
Orima, a 100% Australian-owned consultancy with over 20 years of experience, sought a space that reflected their commitment to community. Their vision encompassed:
- A welcoming environment for staff and guests
- A community-minded atmosphere
- A space fostering collaboration and innovation
- A destination for clients
Solution:
Concept delivered a split-level build within an existing structure, ensuring accessibility through a full mechanical refurbishment, elevator installation, and a new accessible entrance. New bathrooms were also constructed on each floor.
Design Highlights:
- Aligning with Values: The design incorporated a soft, neutral palette with subtle details subtly linking to Orima’s research focus. Brass accents throught provided a cohesive aesthetic.
- Employee Well-being: Acoustic treatments minimised noise, including wall features, workstation screens, and pendant lights. A dedicated observation room facilitated focus group research.
- Connection to Nature: Biophilic design elements like plentiful plants and an outdoor sitting area brought nature indoors. Meeting rooms, named after native Australian flora, further reinforced this connection.
- Light and Spacious: Clear partitions maximised natural light penetration, creating a bright and airy atmosphere.
- Versatility: The space caters to a large team with diverse working styles.
Outcome:
Orima’s space exemplifies Concept’s ability to translate a client’s values and culture into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. The result is a true destination for collaboration and innovation.
