A Colour-Forward Head Office for a Robotics Team
Andromeda, a robotics company whose Abi robots work in aged care, needed a Melbourne head office that could grow with the team and house a working warehouse and product lab alongside a colour-forward workplace true to their brand. Most of their leaders sit with their teams rather than in private offices.
Refurbish the space into a head office that reads unmistakably as Andromeda, with a warehouse for logistics and assembly, a soundproofed audio testing lab beside product assembly, and infrastructure for a future paint booth. Keep the leaders on the floor with their teams, and stretch a warehouse-first budget across the whole fit.
The refurbishment is built around arrival and reuse. The existing staircase, worn but sound, was kept and revitalised with fresh paint, new furniture and a run of globe pendants, opening onto a reception counter carrying the Andromeda brand. A colour-forward palette of hot pink and bold purple, softened by quieter drapery and furniture, runs the idea of light refraction through the floor, with a feature mural giving the brand a physical home. Existing pendants were relocated to the kitchen, skylights uncovered and made to work again, and old offices repurposed as meeting rooms. The kitchen opened up for town halls and group huddles. Behind it all sits a working warehouse with a soundproofed audio lab and a dedicated logistics route for the robots.
Andromeda moved into a head office that reads as their own, with the brand and Abi’s character visible from the staircase arrival through to the kitchen and meeting spaces. The warehouse gained proper space and a dedicated, screened arrival, and a tired office and warehouse were revitalised largely by reworking what was already there.

One of the best projects I’ve worked on at Concept, right from the initial Elevate process. The clients were easy to work with and genuinely proactive, which made a real difference. The space is bold, abundant and confident use of colour and identity — and despite plenty of adaptive reuse, the strategic space planning meant everything still landed cohesively and in exactly the right place.
